Shadow a Scientist Program

Shadow a Scientist This summer program pairs a group of two Middle School students with a Research Scientist at the University of Texas for a two hour tour of the scientist’s lab and experiments in progress.

The goal of the program is to provide the opportunity for young students to cultivate their interest in science and allow them to experience first-hand what a scientist does on a daily basis.

Students can choose a research area that interests them and when possible they will be matched with a scientist doing research in that area.

THE SHADOW A SCIENTIST PROGRAM IS PLANNING ON BEING IN-PERSON THIS SUMMER (2022) AND WILL BE HELD ON CERTAIN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS (JUNE 2–JULY 21) FROM 2-4PM.

We look forward to having your student shadow a scientist at UT. The experience is rewarding for both the host and shadow!
