Our Mission
The Office of Institutional Research and Analytics (formerly TIDES Evaluate) and its education evaluation team help College of Natural Sciences faculty and staff use data to better understand their impact on students and teh college mission, while identifying ways to continuously improve and document efforts. Our primary role is to increase access to quantitative data, qualitative data, and statistical analyses that support internal decision-making.
Services
You can choose the type of evaluation support that would be most useful for you. For instance, if you are a faculty member, you can arrange a consultation to brainstorm about how to measure teaching effectiveness beyond course grade distributions and course instructor surveys. Or, you may enlist longer-term support for writing and implementing the program evaluation/broader impact section of a grant. If you are a program administrator, you could request assistance with a student satisfaction survey or a multi-year, multi-outcome program evaluation plan that involves mining institutional data and statistical analyses.

Recent Projects
- Designing and developing evaluation plans (logic models and evaluation methodologies) for CNS grant proposals.
- Designing evaluation plans (logic model, evaluation questions, methodology matrix, and timeline) to track the CNS curriculum redesign initiative.
- Coordinating the SACSCOC accreditation reports in TracDat for CNS undergraduate departments.
- Compiling institutional data (e.g., enrollment rates, retention rates, etc.) to support planning and ongoing improvement in student services.
- Processing institutional data to develop dashboards for CNS leadership.
- Designing and administering a pre/post student survey for the Freshman Research Initiative program in consultation with the director of FRI and Research Educators.
