UT Austin must maintain its accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) in order to award baccalaureate, professional, masters, and doctorate degrees.  The accreditation process offers an opportunity to better understand what academic departments and student support units do well and what they could do even better.  The Office of Institutional Accreditation and Effectiveness provides guidelines that direct the university’s assessment and reporting practices. Additionally, our team can assist College of Natural Sciences faculty and staff with implementing these guidelines and acquiring the data needed to support continuous improvement while complying with reporting requirements.
