gettingin transfer external
am i a transfer applicant?

External transfers are applicants who have graduated from high school or earned a GED, have enrolled at a college or university after high school graduation or earning a GED, and have never enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin.

Students who have taken college courses or acquired an undergraduate degree from another higher education institution and are looking to enroll in UT Austin courses must apply as a transfer applicant.

What We Consider

Transfer admission to the College of Natural Sciences is limited and competitive. Academic performance in math and science coursework at previous institutions is strongly considered in determining an applicant’s ability to meet the rigor of coursework at UT Austin.

Demonstrated interest in math and science is also considered. Applicants may utilize all aspects of the admissions application including essays, resume, and optional letters of recommendation to express their intended academic and career path in the sciences.
