CNS Research Administrator Network

 

The CNS Research Administrator Network (CNS RAN) is a university-recognized association of research administrators within the College of Natural Sciences. CNS RAN has the overarching goal of improving grants administration practices and facilitating open discussion about grants administration within the College. The group meets monthly to discuss best practices, changes and updates, and outstanding needs regarding grants administration.

  • Learn about changes in funding agency and UT policies that may affect your job.
  • Learn about opportunities for professional development such as conferences, webinars, or certifications. Did you know CNS offers professional development grants specifically for research administrators? Check them out here!
  • Ask questions of knowledgeable people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences (such as, how to comply with a particular regulation, how others are navigating the transition to UTRMS, what wording to use in a budget justification, what happens during an audit, etc.).
  • Earn contact hours for Certified Research Administrator recertification. Psss, CNS will pay for CRA exam and recertification fees! Learn more.
  • Meet your colleagues in CNS and establish connections and build a resource network to access when questions arise in the future.
  • Earn a $300 service incentive when volunteering to facilitiate network meetings! Details below.

 

Group Facilitator: OPEN!

The CNS RAN Facilitator position is open! As facilitator you will:

  • serve a 12-month term during which you will distribute meeting reminders, agendas, and summaries as well as lead the group’s relatively informal monthly meetings;
  • commit approximately 2 – 3 hours each month including one hour for the meeting;
  • receive support from Anise Hawkins, Program Manager in CNS Strategic Research Initiatives; and
  • earn a $300 service incentive at the end of your 12-month term.
