The College of Natural Sciences and the University award a multitude of scholarships to CNS students each year. The College looks at a variety of factors when making scholarship decisions. Scholarship decisions are based on items such as but not limited to merit, leadership and/or need. Since scholarship funding comes from various sources, criteria used to make scholarship selections can vary too.
By accurately filling out the appropriate forms based on your enrollment or application status, you will be considered for a variety of college- and university-administered scholarships.
Students interested in learning about the various opportunities for research funding in the College should visit the TIDES Undergraduate Research Funding Opportunities page. Prospective donors interested in supporting our students should visit the College Giving site.

PLEASE READ - Application Tips:
- Be sure to carefully read the instructions page before beginning and submitting your application.
- Applications are not evaluated on a rolling basis. There is no advantage given to those who submit their application first. Students should take time to thoroughly answer each question and to carefully craft the essay responses. Proofread all answers and essays before submitting.
- Letters of Recommendation -
-
- Letters of recommendation are OPTIONAL. If you opt to have letters submitted on your behalf, only the following currently appointed UT faculty members are allowed to submit a letter: Professors (Full, Associate, and Assistant), Lecturers, Instructors, and Teaching Assistants.
-
- You must enter the EIDs of your letter writers before submitting the application as changes cannot be made to your application once it has been submitted.
-
- Letter writers will receive an email with instructions and a link as to where they should submit letters after you have submitted your application.
-
- The deadline for letters of recommendation is also March 15. However, it is strongly suggested that students opting to have letters submitted on their behalf complete and submit their application no later than March 1. Submitting your application after March 1 does not give your letter writers an appropriate amount of time to craft and upload their recommendations. Please be considerate of your letter writers’ time.
- This application will determine awards for current students for the 2023-2024 academic year. Students graduating in Spring 2023 or Summer 2023 are not eligible to apply.
