What Other Requirements Must I Satisfy?
Every degree within the college satisfies the state-mandated core curriculum, though because of transfer credits, advanced placement, or high school dual college credit you will want to double-check that you have met these requirements.
In addition, students must meet The University of Texas Flag Requirements. Please work with your academic advisor to ensure that all University of Texas Flag Requirements are included in your course and degree planning.
Degree Checklists and 4-Year Plans
Students are eligible to graduate under any active catalog from their years of enrollment at the University. Degree checklists are not official. They are intended as supplements to Interactive Degree Audits.
BSA, BS, and BA Degrees
The university core curriculum lists are maintained by the School of Undergraduate Studies.

BA Degrees
The lists of approved courses for the Social Science requirement and the Cultural Expression, Human Experience, and Thought requirement are maintained by the College of Liberal Arts, and may change each semester.
Degrees, Majors & Advising
Choosing a major is about finding an area about which you are passionate. Choosing a degree plan within that major is about building up the right set of skills that will support you in your career ahead. Ideally, here is how you would structure your time in college:
- Find the general topic area that interests you most, for example, astronomy or biology or physics.
- Choose the major that most aligns with your interests
- Find the degree plan that helps you achieve your goals for your time here, including preparing yourself for a career after school.

Out-of-state tuition waivers
Recipients of scholarships and waivers available to current undergraduates are chosen by the College of Natural Sciences Undergraduate Scholarship Committee. There is one standard online application for both scholarships and waivers.
A complete application consists of the online portion and at least one (1) faculty letter of recommendation. All materials, including the letter of recommendation, must be received no later than the April 15 deadline. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.

The 2013-2014 College of Natural Sciences scholarship application deadline has passed. We are no longer accepting applications.
Authorization agreements (commonly known as tuition waivers) allow non-resident students to pay tuition at in-state rates. The regulations (as set by the Texas Legislature) governing these waivers state that in order to be eligible to apply for a tuition waiver, the student must be the holder of an academically competitive scholarship in which:
- He/she was in competition with other students in the State of Texas.
- The total award amount must be at least $1,000.
- The scholarship was administered and awarded by The University of Texas in an application process open both to residents and non-residents.
- The scholarship must be specifically designated to cover the semester for which the tuition waiver is requested. (If, however, you're submitting an application for the summer, then the scholarship can be designated for either the preceding spring semester or upcoming fall semester.)
Also, in order to be eligible to receive a waiver through the College of Natural Sciences, the applicant must be registered full-time and majoring in the College of Natural Sciences.
