Community
The Black and Latinx Advocacy Council (BLAC) is committed to fostering a sense of belonging for historically under-represented Latinx and Black students within the college through community building and recruitment. The BLAC advises the CNS Student Dean on issues affecting group involvement and academic success.
Networking
In addition to community building, the Black and Latinx Advocacy Council works to provide robust networking and mentoring opportunities for Latinx and Black students within the College of Natural Sciences. These opportunities are cultivated between peers within the college, as well as between current students and alumni from these communities.
Recruitment
Lastly, BLAC was established to provide support towards the College of Natural Sciences' recruitment efforts to address the continued under-representation of Latinx and Black students in the sciences.
