A brief glimpse into the life of an Antarctic Weddell Seal with Ed Farrell.
Farrell is a research scientist at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute who studies foraging in large marine mammals.
Weddell seals spend most of their lives below the ice in Antarctica, where they eat fish, octopus and squid, and avoid predators, such as orca whales. They are well known for being very vocal, and make a number of otherworldly sounds.
