Dear Students,
One of my favorite aspects of the College of Natural Science is the breadth of our community—the amazing diversity of people, research, groups, activities and events. Although I've been at UT for more than 10 years, almost every day I meet an interesting new person or learn about a fascinating project in CNS. I encourage everyone to spend some time each week exploring the many opportunities within CNS to invent, create, learn and more… for example, next week during the annual Natural Sciences Week.
Each day next week, the students of our Natural Sciences Council have planned a big event (or two) to help celebrate the CNS community. Here are a few highlights:
- The week kicks off on Monday with breakfast tacos on the NHB patio from 9-10am. (I'll be there—stop by and say hi.)
- On Wednesday from 4-7pm there will be a Vaccination Celebration on the East Mall, featuring live music, tabling by student orgs and giveaways.
- On Thursday from 6-7pm, Dr. Luisa Gil Fandino of the School of Human Ecology will give a "last lecture" addressing the question "If this was your last lecture ever, what would you want students to know?"
P.S. There's now a rapid COVID testing site in CNS. Stop by NHB 1.710 on Tuesdays from 3-7pm for quick, free, walk-up testing (no reservation required). More information here.
