Dear Students,
I'm sure you've all been hearing about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and how to take measures to stop or slow the spread of the disease. The University has a central page for up-to-date information that I encourage you to check regularly.
Even beyond COVID-19, I want to encourage you to take care of yourself. This is a stressful point in the semester and healthy habits are often the first to go when school, work, and other obligations start piling up. I know you've heard me say these all before, but here are three ways to take care of yourself… again:
- Sleep. Seriously, scientists continue to discover more about the importance of sleep in reaching your goals… like doing well on tests. It's crucial for your brain and your wellbeing.
- Sun. Spring seems to have decided to come to Texas and we've had some beautiful days. Take a walk, lay in the sun, do your studying outside and reap all the benefits.
- Spring Break. Use this time to refill your buckets so you can finish out the semester strong.
Have a safe and wonderful spring break and be sure to check your e-mail and follow me on Twitter for any updates from the university while you're gone.
Best,
Dr. Vanden Bout
