Spend a Semester by the Sea

Spend a Semester by the Sea

Dear Students,

Have you ever been staring at your textbook and thought, "I wish I were on a beach"? Well, have I got good news for you: you can take a course and lie on the beach (or be close by), even while reading your textbook. UT has a Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, Texas, and there's a wonderful opportunity to spend a Semester by the Sea while taking cool courses like Marine Phytoplankton Diversity and Human Exploration/Exploitation of the Sea. Curious about the other perks?

  • Work with a faculty research mentor
  • Live in on-campus housing for the entire semester in Port Aransas, including breakfast and lunch on all weekdays
  • All courses will count toward the Marine Science Certificate

Marine Science Certificate not your thing? We have many other certificates and there are two info sessions this week:

  • Pre-Health Professions Certificate Info Session
    • Wednesday, October 3rd, 5:00 – 6:00 pm, WAG 201
      RSVP
  • Forensic Science Certificate Info Session
    • Thursday, October 4th, 5:00 – 6:00 pm, WAG 214
      RSVP

Make the most of your time here, become more marketable, and expand your horizons through certificates.

Best,
Dr. Vanden Bout
