Cancer researcher Linda deGraffenried, professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, was featured on Fox 7 Austin for breast cancer awareness month.
In this segment, deGraffenried discusses how she hopes to change the way breast cancer is treated through her research. Currently, chemotherapy treatments kill healthy cells as well as cancer cells. DeGraffenried aims to target cancer cells in a way that is less harmful for the rest of the body.
DeGraffenried also talks about ways that breast cancer awareness has changed, as well as how modifying diet and exercise can decrease cancer risks.
