Dear Students,
You received a message this morning from Campus Safety alerting you to the fact that the City of Austin has issued a citywide notice that all residents need to boil their water. Updates on the situation for our campus community will be posted to this website https://emergency.utexas.edu/
In the meantime, please avoid consuming water from water fountains, sinks, ice machines or showers. Water in the city needs to be boiled (e.g., three minutes in the microwave). As the Campus Safety message today stated: "It is important that you follow this guidance on and off campus until we hear more from Austin Water. ... These precautions are necessary in the wake of the central Texas flood situation. Your patience and cooperation are appreciated."
