Give Back

Welcome back to a new year and a new semester. We begin this semester with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday. As such, I'm sending my weekly Monday email early.

With each new semester is the opportunity to reflect on where you have been and where you'd like to go. We often take the time to examine personal habits and resolve to dump the bad and reinforce the good.

With this semester starting with MLK Day, I would also ask you to reflect on what you can do to improve our community. Both on campus and off. Better yet, don't just reflect but go out and do something. Both in Austin and around the nation, Monday will be a day of service to our communities. So find a way to contribute. Come to the annual MLK Day March that starts on the East Mall, and bring non-perishable food items for the Capital Area Food Bank. Or find another service project. Enjoy the Day. Give Back.

Best,
