Dear Students,
This is one of my favorite weeks of the year: Natural Sciences Week. Led by our incredible Natural Sciences Council, this week celebrates so many wonderful things about our scientific world.
Monday, October 14th
- Donuts on the Patio – Coffee. Donuts. Dean Goldbart. Don't miss it! (NHB Patio 9-11am)
- Gone to Natural Sciences – This is the big one! There will be food, prizes, music, a petting zoo, and student orgs galore. (Main Mall, 6-8pm)
Tuesday, October 15th
- Star Party – Join us on the roof of PMA to look through the telescope, gaze at stars, enjoy liquid nitrogen ice cream. (Rooftop of PMA (RLM), 8-10pm)
Wednesday, October 16th
- CNS Connections – Get out and network with industry representatives! Even if you don't think you're looking for a job, this is a great way to get some practice. (SAC Ballroom, 6-8pm)
Thursday, October 17th
- The Last Lecture: Racial Stressors in Black Families – Dr. Fatima Varner is this year's guest lecturer with the prompt: If this was your last lecture ever, what would you want students to know? (MEZ 1.306, 5:15 pm)
Friday, October 18th
- Art in Science – One of the reasons I love science is that there is so much beauty in it. Come celebrate art created within our community. (NHB 1.720, 10am-Noon)
When you see me at these events, be sure to come up and introduce yourself!
Best,
Dr. Vanden Bout
