Don't Let Up

Don't Let Up

CNS Newsletter

Dear Students,

This is not only the last week before Spring Break, this week also generally coincides with mid-term exams or the second exam in many classes.  There is a tendency for students to “check out” after this exam and start their break a bit early.  I would encourage you to avoid this habit.  Use this week to prepare for your break.  Then you can take advantage of the break rather than worrying about how you will make up for the time off.  Make a plan for how you will keep up with your courses.  Get ahead rather than putting everything off.  Every bit you can get done now will be less that looms over you during Spring Break.  Finally, while the time off is great, don’t forget everything you’ve done this semester.  Where possible, squeeze in some school work.  Just an hour every day can make a huge difference.   Make a plan for how you will get back into school mode when Spring Break is over.

The break is meant to give you time to catch up, to relax, to reassess, and regroup.  Take advantage of it by using this upcoming week to your maximum benefit.

Best,

-Dr. Vanden Bout

P.S. The weekly newsletter link is at the top of the email.

P.P.S.  I am currently presenting some research at a scientific conference in Germany.  I hope that no one is thinking about the following quote attributed to Wolfgang Pauli "Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!" roughly translated as “It is not only not right, it is not even wrong”.
