I wanted to send a note to wish you a Happy New Year, also with just a few things I wanted to let you know:
1. I hope you are having fun catching up with friends and family during the semester break. It is a time to take a well earned rest (unless you are working a job over the break in which case I hope you manage to rest and make some money).
2. While you are reveling in your winter break mode, remember to start thinking about your summer plans and, for some of you, life after graduation. Spend some time these next few weeks thinking about what you want to do when the school year ends—be it an internship, a full-time job or pursuing more education. Then, make an appointment to visit with a Career Coach at Career Services in the new semester to make those plans a reality.
3. Why not use this time to add some big events to your 2016 calendar as well? CNS Cornerstones has started a list here that includes a free leadership summit, study abroad fair, Senior Countdown information, and more.
4. Finally, if you graduated this fall, let us know what's coming next for you! Please take a minute to complete the graduation survey so we can brag about how bright our CNS students are.
Best,
Dr. Vanden Bout
P.S. If you didn't graduate, enjoy the remainder of the break and come back safe. UT looks forward to welcoming you back to campus!
