Jesse is a Ph.D. student in the Bray lab at the University of Texas at Austin where he studies the genetics of dietary behaviors. He received his Master's in Nutritional Sciences from UT Austin and wrote his thesis on the effects of meal timing and composition on lipid absorption. Jesse is also a Registered Dietitian and is passionate about nutrition education.

My dissertation is focused on understanding the influence of genetic diversity on eating behaviors. We know that dietary intakes can spontaneously shift during the course of an aerobic exercise intervention. I am using a multi-omic approach to uncover the links between the genetic determinants of these behaviors to the metabolic outputs. My goal is to use this information to create an in-depth characterization of the dietary and metabolic adaptations to exercise.
