McDonald Observatory education and outreach staff will host a livestream program all about Mars in collaboration with Lowell Observatory. Mars will be at opposition, which means it will be in the night sky for a long time, orbiting close to Earth, and well-lit by the sun. Hosts from both observatories will discuss all things Mars, such as its science, history, geology, and future missions, and, if weather permits, show some live views of Mars from telescopes on both sites.
Moderators in the live chat will be taking questions, and the hosts will take more at the end.
Can't make the live stream? This event will be recorded and remain on the McDonald Observatory YouTube channel.
