In 2019, Xiaowei Zhuang won the prestigious Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences for her work developing super-resolution imaging that revealed hidden structures inside cells.  She is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator, a member of the National Academy of Sciences and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
