Imagine a future in which everyone can receive truly helpful diet and exercise guidance, tailored to their specific genetics, history, lifestyle and culture.
Two nutritional sciences faculty members will explore how strategies like personalized preventive medicine and school-based interventions are transforming the landscape and providing real promise for lasting change to help people lead healthy lives.
Featuring:
- Dr. Molly Bray, whose research focuses on how the timing and quality of energy intake affects weight gain and metabolic health through intestinal absorption and the gut microbiome. She currently leads one of the largest genetic studies of exercise adherence established to date, the Training Interventions and Genetics of Exercise Response study.
- Dr. Jaimie Davis, whose research focuses on dietary and exercise interventions to reduce obesity, metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes risk factors in youth and adults. Her most recent study examined how school-based gardening and nutrition and cooking education can prevent and treat these risk factors in primarily Hispanic children and their families.
