Live Deep Sky Tour
Wednesday, December 02, 2020, 07:00pm

Join the Department of Astronomy for live views of several targets from the dark skies at McDonald Observatory, starting at 7pm Central time. Your host Stephen Hummel will show you views from a camera attached to a research-grade 16" telescope at the Frank N. Bash Visitors Center. This will be a tour of our Milky Way and the Local Group of galaxies.

The targets, weather permitting, will be:
1. NGC 7023, or the Iris Nebula
2. M 31 (core), or the Andromeda Galaxy
3. NGC 206, an open cluster inside of M31
4. M 110, a dwarf galaxy orbiting M31
5. M 33, or the Triangulum Galaxy
6. NGC 7331, a more distant galaxy

Moderators in the live chat will be taking questions, and the host will take more at the end.

Can’t make the live stream? This event will be recorded and remain on the McDonald Observatory channel.

Hope for clear skies!
