Live Deep Sky Tour
Tuesday, June 09, 2020, 10:00pm - 11:00pm

Join the Department of Astronomy for live views of several deep-sky targets from the dark skies at McDonald Observatory, starting at 10pm Central time. Your host Stephen Hummel will show you views from a camera attached to a research-grade 16" telescope at the Frank N. Bash Visitors Center. Early Summer skies in the Northern Hemisphere are full of wonderful gems to explore!

The targets, weather permitting, will be:
1. M13, or the Great Hercules Cluster (pictured in thumbnail)
2. M83, or the "Southern Pinwheel Galaxy"
3. NGC 4361, or the "Lawn Sprinkler Nebula"
4. NGC 4039, or the "Antennae Galaxies"
5. M106, a large intermediate spiral galaxy

Can't make the live stream? This event will be recorded and remain on the McDonald Observatory channel.

Hope for clear skies!
