Live Deep Sky Tour
Saturday, May 16, 2020, 09:30pm

Join the Department of Astronomy for live views of several deep-sky targets from the dark skies at McDonald Observatory, starting at 9:30pm Central time. Your host Stephen Hummel will show you views from a camera attached to a research-grade 16" telescope at the Frank N. Bash Visitors Center. It's galaxy season!

The targets, weather permitting, will be:
1. M82, or the "Cigar Galaxy"
2. M64, or the "Black Eye Galaxy"
3. M61, or the "Swelling Spiral", with supernova 2020hvf
4. NGC 4762, or the "Paper Kite Galaxy" (thumbnail, on right)
5. QSO 0957+561 A/B, or the "Twin Quasar"

Moderators in the live chat will be taking questions, but don't always have time to answer all of them. You can also submit your questions for them to answer in later videos here: https://forms.gle/RF9NzRbTh9rK6mzf6

Can't make the live stream? This event will be recorded and remain on the McDonald Observatory channel.

Hope for clear skies!
