*Cancelled* How Faculty Beliefs Shape Student Motivation & Learning
Thursday, March 12, 2020, 04:30pm

Due to the cancellation of SXSW 2020, this event is no longer taking place in March. Please stay tuned as it will be rescheduled for a future time.

Carol Dweck, Mary Murphy and David Yeager

Faculty, staff and friends are invited to join three keynote presenters from the 2020 SXSWedu program for a special evening, hosted by Natural Sciences and Liberal Arts, exploring the science of student motivation and learning.

Find out how mindsets—students’ beliefs about their educational belonging, abilities and purpose—have the power to make the difference between a student who drops out or who persists, and between students focusing on just getting a grade versus deeper learning and curiosity.

Come learn about a new initiative in educational research at UT where STEM faculty will play a central part.

Speakers include Stanford University’s Carol Dweck, Indiana University’s Mary Murphy and UT Austin’s David Yeager.
