The Freeman Stipend for Internships in Asia supports UT undergraduates interning in the following countries: Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
The stipend is meant to assist students with their travel and living costs abroad. Awards range from $2000 to $6000 depending on estimated costs of the internship experience and student’s level of financial need.
The eligibility criteria include:
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Internship must be for a minimum of 6 weeks
- Students must have a confirmed internship placement

This funding will be available from Fall 2016 through Fall 2017.
