Our August Grad Student/Postdoc Professional Development Seminar will be a continuation of the Academic Careers Workshop that we started in July. We'll host faculty members from PUIs (primarily undergraduate institutions) for a panel discussion from noon-1pm on Tuesday, August 16. Faculty panelists will open the session by discussing the mission of their institution and the expectations for faculty members at their insitution, and how this impacts their teaching and research. We'll then open the session for Q&A, where panelists can discuss the preparation of a competitive application, answer questions about the teaching portfolio, and share advice regarding undergraduate research proposals and funding.
