Visualizing Science Contest Deadline

Visualizing Science 2015 winnerThe College of Natural Sciences is looking for images that celebrate the extraordinary beauty of science and the scientific process. In essence, we want images that capture the moment where science and art collide.

The six top images will receive prizes, and the top prize is $1,000. All winning images are prominently displayed on campus and shared at a special CNS reception and on the college's website. Many of the submitted images will be shared in print, video, and other areas of communication. 

Images can include visualizations, photographs, microscope images, fractals, patterns, mathematical equations, and so on. You can see example images from 2014 and 2015. Your images will help us tell stories about the great scientific work that is happening in the College of Natural Sciences.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Images must have been produced by a member of the College of Natural Sciences, and can include visualizations, photographs, microscope images, fractals, patterns, scalable vector files, etc.
  2. Please submit all images by June 1, 2016.
  3. All images are welcome, but large size digital images are preferred. Ideal size: 8700x5100 pixels or 14.5in x 8.5in at 600dpi (larger is better). Please submit digital files in one of the following formats: jpeg, png, tiff, eps, or ai.
  4. Please choose only your best 2-3 images.
  5. Send images to Steve Franklin through UT Box or email at sefranklin@mail.utexas.edu.
  6. Hardcopy images can be picked up by our staff or mailed to Steve Franklin, Dean's Office, G2500.
  7. Please include a short description of the image.
