Our June Professional Development seminar for graduate students and postdocs will be a panel discussion focusing on Faculty Positions at Undergraduate Institutions.  Panelists will include:

Dr. Jason Callahan, Math Professor, St. Edwards University; Dr. Linnea Fletcher, Biotechnology Department Chair, Austin Community College; and Dr. Emily Niemeyer, Chemistry Professor, Southwestern University (Georgetown, TX).

The Goal:  To highlight differences in expectations of faculty members at a variety of "teaching-focused" institutions.  Grad students/postdocs who are not familiar (from past experience) with PUIs, should gain an appreciation of the mission of these institutions and the expectations of faculty members (with regard to number and variety of courses taught, research activities, involving undergraduates in research, undergraduate advising, and service).
