Professional Development Seminar - Science Policy lecture with Dr. Kirstin Matthews

Our February Grad Student/Postdoc Professional Development event will be a Science Policy lecture on Tuesday, February 17th, from noon-1pm.  Dr. Kirstin Matthews from Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy will speak about the role of scientists in public policy and potential careers in science policy.  Dr. Matthews is a UT College of Natural Sciences alumna (BA Biochemistry) who earned a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.  Her current research is focused on ethical and policy issues related to biomedical research and development.  You can see her bio here:  http://bakerinstitute.org/experts/kirstin-rw-matthews/

This seminar will give credit towards Responsible Conduct of Research certification.
