Purpose: To introduce research programs to interested high school students and undergraduate students in the department and those who may be interested in becoming a physics major, as well as to beginning graduate students.
Importance and Past Success: This is THE outreach activity hosted by the department that serves the largest number of students. We attract several hundred students each year including some local high school students.
Main Attractions:
1. Poster competition featuring undergraduate researchers
2. Lab tours and presentations
3. Watermelon drop
