The November Professional Development Seminar for graduate students and postdocs will address the topic of Technology Commercialization and will feature Dan Sharp, the Director of the UT-Austin Office of Technology Commercialization.  Dan Sharp oversees the business of the OTC, manages all intellectual property and licensing activities, and coordinates relationships between OTC and faculty/researchers across the campus.

This seminar should be of interest to anyone who wants to better understand how scientific innovation is moved beyond academia to "real world" applications.  RCR topics will include intellectual property, data sharing and ownership, and conflicts of interest. 

Attendance at this event counts towards Responsible Conduct of Research certification.

Seminars are held in NHB 1.720, noon-1pm.  Pizza and drinks will be served.
