Diversity & Inclusion
I am the son of Asian immigrant parents whom answered USA's call for healthcare and engineering professionals after the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. In a way, I was part of the first-gen to attend college and later on graduate school. My gap years introduced me to the educational inequities in the public K12 education system. I stand "on the shoulders of giants" of those who supported me through the challenges of getting a degree and "Model Minority" imposter syndrome. I serve college students, because I want "pay it forward" to the next generation: scientists, teachers, social justice advocates, etc. After all here at UT, we "transform lives for the benefit of society."
